Umm...so yeah...this is a little awkward. Sorry I didn't call or update, I got really busy and...it's not you, it's me....well great running into you. Just kidding. So we took a little time off and I have been writing songs and demo-ing a ton of new music for the next record. I am playing a few shows at SXSW so please check out the tour section for more info on those. Also, we are going out in late April with our good friend, and amazing musician Brett Dennen. Well, Danny is hitting the road for a mini-tour through Mississippi and then on to Arkansas. After that he will make his way home to play the Dance Marathon Benefit at The Parish in Austin on November 30th. Update time again! Well, like we always do we have been out for a while. Danny has been vigorously writing songs, and he will be debuting some new songs at his upcoming gigs. Come out and see Danny and the band at the Hole in the Wall for a special Halloween show on October 29. Then come check out Danny, solo acoustic, at The Parish on November 8, with Matt Nathanson and Brett Dennen. The show is going to be one you don't want to miss, so get there early as Danny kicks off the night. Until next time!

Once again I've slacked off for a couple of months. However, I bring worthwhile news. We have a huge week coming up for South by Southwest. We will be playing an assload of shows all of which can be seen in the shows section. I'll be playing along with Bob Schneider at Saxon as well as a show at Emo's with State Radio which is the side project of the lead singer of Dispatch. I also, by some act of god (or maybe Noelle), managed to land one of the coveted Waterloo In-Stores on Thursday of SXSW! Come check me out that evening, and then head over to Threadgill's, grab a bite to eat, and see me with the band. Please check out all the dates and make sure to come out to the shows. I promise it's the perfect time to scratch that itch. Have a sweet SXSW!

I'm back! So I know it's been awhile since the last update and I'm sure you're all aching to know whats going on. First of all, Happy New Year to everyone, I hope everyone was safe and yet simultaneously unsafe. Kevin Slater just finished his first album which I helped produce over the past few weeks. We got Mat over at SeeThruSound to engineer it again and t sounds amazing. Like, you know when you;re eating a hamburger and you get that one perfect bite that just tastes better than the entire rest of the burger and yet it was such a good bite that you contemplate not eating the rest? Well, that bite is what Kevin's album is like. You will contemplate ever listening to any other album. Other than that, get ready for me to hit the road and start coming to see all of you. I'll try to be more diligent about posting on here more often but im not making any promises. I love you guys.

So last Friday, the 9th, was the album release party which I had been stressing about but it turned out to be amazing. A ton of people showed up to show support and I hope they know how much I appreciate them. The album hit number 2 on Waterloo Records Weekly Top 50 and that completely blows my mind. I just hope we can keep the progress going. Again thank you to everyone who came out, I love you guys and I'm sure I'll see you all and many more at shows yet to come. By the way, I will be playing this Saturday night at Mojo's in Austin. They are closing down so this will be my last Mojo's show ever. Come see history.

A week left, kinda. A week and a day left. eight days left until the cd release party that you are all going to be at. Austin, Texas at Emo's on 6th and Red River on Friday December 9th beginning at 5:30 pm you and all of your friends and family and illegitimate children are going to find out what its like to laugh and cry sometimes. Kevin Slater from Lonely State and K. Dehan are opening for me and they are both fucking amazing so you have to show up as soon as you can both to see them and to avoid being locked out because lets face it, I'm going to sell out the joint (if I don't I'll just come back and delete that last comment). Come party yourself ridiculous, I know where most of you live. I'm in the CIA bitches!

There are a few shows added to the shows page, so check them out. More will be added very soon. I'm still trying to put the band together, so I'm a little worried about every one knowing their parts in time. But I'm sure it'll come together…and if it doesn't: fuck it, we'll play anyway. My album release party is December 9th at Emo's. We'll have the early show (from 5:30 to 9) all to ourselves. It's going to be a crazy motherfuckin' party; I'm really looking forward to it, and I hope you are, too. The artwork is all finished for the cd and they are getting pressed next week. Drew did such a good job with the artwork. I couldn't be happier with it. So, the cd is being released on Lonely State Records. This is my record label. Drew, Nick, Cooper and I are starting it up. Really, it's the three of them doing all the work, and I get to be the precious artist who reaps the benefits; but I am coming on as part owner. This is an incredibly exciting time for me. I can't wait to see where we are in 5 years with the label and the band. It's going to be a crazy ride, but if everything goes as planned, I couldn't be in a better place. It's just tough to get started, essentially, from scratch. But I'm prepared for the long haul. Peace, sukkas!!

The new album "While We're Still Here" is done!!! It is 14 tracks, and I think it sounds pretty damn good if I do say so myself. It won't be released until sometime in late October because I still have to get artwork worked out and getting the whole package mastered, but we might leak a track or two on the website, so check back frequently for that. It was an incredible experience recording my first full length album. I can't wait to do the next one. But that won't be for a while, so don't hold your breath. In the meantime, watch out because I'll be playing shows very soon in and around Austin and I'm planning a big as shit cd release party for late October. I'll get back with more details on that. Also, I've changed the name from Microphoner to just boring old Danny Malone. I didn't want it to just be my name, but that seems to be the easiest thing. I kept getting called "the microphoners" or "microphoney" or shit like that. Plus, I'm not sure the name fit the music in the first place. So now it's just me. I hope y'all don't mind. Well I have to go study now; hope y'all are getting crazy out there. peace.

Shows are going to be popping up here so check the Shows page frequently. The show at Mojo's went well so I will be playing there the next two Fridays (the 15th and 22nd). See ya there. Also, I'll hopefully be recording a full length album soon. The songs are there, stewing in my brain, ready to be put to tape; but money, again, is what holds me back. A new website is coming also. Okay, so I recorded a six song e.p. in a studio in Carrollton, TX this past summer. It’s the first real recording I’ve done outside of the stuff I’ve done in closets, so it’s exciting for me.

I gave guitar and drum lessons to kids during the day end earned enough money for 36 hours of recording time, which is not a lot of time, and in three days I cranked out what I could. The result is the Get It On e.p., available for purchase here on the website.

Microphoner will be playing various gigs around Austin and Dallas this spring and summer, and I'm in the process of lining up a summer tour, so get ready to party like rock stars when Microphoner gets to town!
